TAKING it’s name from the highly accomplished collection of ground-breaking 15th century painters, the Flemish Primitives Festival is an opportunity to celebrate the innovative & avant-garde with masterclass demonstrations & collaborations from chefs, artists and scientists from around the world, all concerned with taking food to the next level. With talks ranging from cooking with liquid nitrogen to the soybean products of Korea taking place throughout the two day festival, one could almost forget about belt-braking 17-course gala dinner prepared especially by the festival hosts! Remarkably, whilst offering the opportunity to learn about what’s on the cutting edge of the gastronomic world, the Primitives Festival still manages to serve up something that’s deeply traditional, enjoyable and most importantly Flemish.
